In a crisis, clear communications are more essential than ever.  The Communications team worked with curial offices, priests, and parish staffs to help them deliver the message.  They also took the lead on several new initiatives to ensure the laity had the latest updates across a wide range of communications channels.

  • DenverParish.org/coronavirus resource portal for parishes.
    • Regular – at times daily – updates with content including sacramental guidance and spiritual resources, financial issues, HR assistance, and livestream help.
  • Archden.org/coronavirus resource portal for parishioners.
    • Regular – at times daily – updates with content including videos, prayer resources, Mass livestreams, ideas to support each other and your parish.
  • Published a special Easter Magazine edition of the Denver Catholic full of inspiring and helpful content for families.
  • Created and launched #PasstheBasket social media fundraising campaign, promoting direct giving to parishes online in the absence of public Mass; assisted numerous parishes in setting up online giving for their website.
  • Livestreaming of our bishops’ Masses.  Producing our YouTube Mass (nearing 100,000 views per week from around the world).
  • Informative videos featuring our bishops, priests, and a CDC virologist.
  • Special coverage in the Denver Catholic newspaper and online.
    • 27-percent increase in digital edition subscribers
    • Website traffic setting new records
  • Translations ensuring wide availability to critical information.
  • Social Media: Updated daily, or multiple times a day, with important information and encouraging content.
  • Parish Relations: Assisted over 100 parishes.
  • Continued providing Flocknote accounts and special Flocknote content for our parishes and schools, who sent a record-breaking 7,766,482(!) Flocknotes to the faithful since February 23 of this year.
